Let us not forget, we have an enemy. One who is so devious and heartless that he would steal our lives in a moment without hesitation. A few days ago, I literally witnessed a good man (a young man, in his early 40’s) go to be with the Lord. He left behind a loving wife, and 3 beautiful, children (16, 13, 12). I watched their family and friends mourn over his untimely and sudden death.
About one month ago, I was told of another Pastor friend, who went to a Christian Conference and dropped dead, leaving behind a wife who had been severely disabled due to a sudden illness. In the same week I also was told of another Pastor friend, who had been critically injured in an auto accident. His wife and 6 children are now left to fiend for themselves as he (praise to God) begins the road to recovery.
You may ask why are you bringing up these horrific stories? I will tell you why, much of the time, we are relying on God's mercy and grace to keep up and our families because we have not put common sense to work for us, we forget that bad things happen to good people. We are optimistic that these things will never happen to us or our families, and while I want this to be the case as much as you, we also have to remember, that "The thief comes not but for to steal, kill, and destroy." Let us not forget that we can use the world to be a benefit to us and our families should we encounter temptations, trials, and tests, and come out as we always should "V-I-C-T-O-R-I-O-U-S".
My Apostolic call is to assist the men and women of God to achieve their ministry assignments and in so doing, I found the body of Christ often is in the dark about practical things to protect themselves, I am (state licensed in Accident/Health/Life) working in Health Care Insurance, with several companies among them "Aflac". Everybody is familiar with the "Duck", calling for help, but many don't know exactly what the company actually does. (They are largest provider of Supplemental Insurance in the country, paying claims within 4 days!). They didn't invest in the sub-prime housing market, and are on the Fortune 200 list, with excellent insurance ratings.
This product is designed to pay the claim money to you, in the event of sickness, injury, etc. (suggested outlay is no more than 1 to 1 1/2 hours of pay per week, in some cases as low as $10-15 per week). The products do not require medical exams (but do ask medical questions), which could result in additional underwriting questions. It is portable, and fully renewable (at your enrollment price for life). The focus is on small businesses (including churches), and on a direct basis, (including individual pastors), since these are the people frequently left out.
We never want to think about calamity coming our way, however I know it is better to be proactive than reactive. Finding out about a tool to assist us and our families should something unexpected happen, is not something to fear, facing the reality that bad things can happen does not open the door for them to happen. Getting information and putting safeguards in place sets you free.
I am asking every one who leads a home, congregation, place of employment, or who is a friend to others, member of a family and community, to realize that if something happens to you, it happens to all those around you. Take the time to look into additional ways to protect your family, your home, and your greatest financial resource "YOU". Take 20 minutes to listen and maybe you can avert a difficult situation for your loved ones should something happen. We don’t have to come out of the Spirit to deal with the world. God gave us senses so we could have some sense. Yes, in all these things we are more than conquerors.
If I can be of assistance to you in giving you some facts with which to make a decision, let me know. Please don't be so heavenly minded until you are no earthly good.
