He Will Make You Whole
In the Gospel of St. Mark is the account of a woman whose entire being was lost, broken & in need of repair. This certain woman had an issue of blood for 12 years. She had suffered many things of many physicians and had spent all that she had earned. However, nothing was better. Her condition only grew worse. She heard one day that the Carpenter from Nazareth was in town.
It was in the workshop of His Foster Father Joseph that Jesus learned about this trade. And, as He began His Ministry, He transferred His knowledge of working with wood to the continual work in the lives of all men.
You see … carpenters repair things; they restore things. Carpenters finish that which has been broken or undone. And, certainly it was this certain woman, on this certain day, that needed a carpenters touch.
As she pressed against the crowd behind this Carpenter named Jesus, she reached up and touched the hem of His garment. She said: "If I may but touch His clothes, I shall be made whole." Straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up and she was healed of that plague.
Friends, the Carpenter from Nazareth still repairs broken hearts. The Carpenter from Nazareth still restores broken homes. Jesus still repairs shattered dreams & fractured relationships. It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed. Great Is His Faithfulness !!!
"And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague."
