Being truely blessed
It took me a long time to understand the reailty of what it means to be truly blessed, because I thought being blessed meant God woke me up in morning.
Though that is a blessing, But! then what?
Being blessed actually means being happy, so when I hear "I'm blessed because God woke me up this morning" I wonder how happy are you!
I kept wondering, How do I captivate the reality of being blessed, (happy) while dealing with a world that is filled with sin, causing me to have to make decisions that either goes against God or be about His business.
Hard decisions.
When Jesus went on the Mountain and begin teaching His diciples, He said...
“ Blessed are the poor in spirit,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven". Matthew 5:3
Which means in reality, that once we admit that we need the Spirit of God, so that we don't be lead to commit such sins as being prideful, lusting, having arrogance and making other ungodly decisions, but allowing His Spirit to guide us to a fruitful way of life that consist of love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. (Galatians 5:22), for then I shall be happy, because regardless to what life circumstances shall be, I'm living in the image of God, who I seek to please; especially when hard times arrive, because then i'm letting Him know how much I love Him, by not biting the forbidden fruits that feed my fleshly desires, which robs me from the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
For they shall be comforted. Matthew 5:4
When we feed from the Spirit of God, we will not allow our selves to think negetive thoughts about a person doing wrong, instead our Spirit mourns for such person, knowing they are leading or being lead to hell, And God comforts us, which always made me feel happy and upon the comfort that we recieve, we concenbtrate (being lead) on encouraging such person.
Blessed are the meek,
For they shall inherit the earth Matthew 5:5
Being meek means to be humble and being humble means to be willing to recieve, So if we allow our selves the ability to recieve God's truth, and we act out His truth, then we will always have the ability to handle all situations on earth according to His glory, which will make us happy, because we'll see how much he loves and protects by givng us what is needed to fight in righteousness.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
For they shall be filled Matthew 5:6
When we want something badly, we're willing to go to most anything length to have it, So if we hunger and thirst for righteousness, we're allowing our selves to show the world how to live a godly life, while while being an example of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who never sinned and revealed happiness serving God to the fullest.
Blessed are the merciful,
For they shall obtain mercy. Matthew 5:7
This is one of the hardest of all, But when we allow our selves to have mercy, especially on those, who have done us wrong, we are setting our selves up for allowing God to have mercy on us, who have done things that have hurt Him...We get what we give.
Remember how relieved you felt when someone you did wrong to, showed you mercy, Didn't it make you feel happy?
Blessed are the pure in heart,
For they shall see God. Matthew 5:8
When we allow our selves to do thing according to God's way of living and we do it with a pure heart we're allowing our selves the ability to see what it's like to be in the image of God, while we're in preparation to see Him when rapture comes....That alone make me happy, Knowing of the possiblity to be going home.
There are so many people, who are unhappy, because of not feeling apart of and I was one of those people, so when Jesus revealed the following.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
For they shall be called sons of God. Matthew 5:9
I knew that I would always want to be apart of God's kingdom, so regardless to what happens around me, my Spirit, leads me to be like Jesus, who is the peace maker, bringing people to God, which causes me to be happy beyond comprehension, while i'm working diligently to be called a son of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:10
How many times have people persecuted us for things that maybe dear to us, so to have people persecute me for living a righteous life, then I am happy, knowing that people is coming at me for doing what pleases God.
Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. 12 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. Matthew 5:11-12
People are going to talk anyway, So why not have them talk about you serving God, knowing that you'll living a life that can gain you the kingdom of heaven and place you among the prophets...Oh what a happy thought that is.
You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. Matthew 5:13
We as saints should be happy serving the Lord, While He fills us with His spirit, thus allowing us to be flavored with His power, So we can useful, sharing of His love, while He guide us through all the trails and tribulations that the world can put us through.
Food for thought!
1 How happy is the man
who does not follow the advice of the wicked,
or take the path of sinners,
or join a group of mockers!
2 Instead, his delight is in the LORD's instruction,
and he meditates on it day and night.
3 He is like a tree planted beside streams of water that bears its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.
4 The wicked are not like this;
instead, they are like chaff that the wind blows away.
5 Therefore the wicked will not survive the judgment, and sinners will not be in the community of the righteous.
6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to ruin. Psalm 1:1-6 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. Matthew 16:24
