a way to escape

Today, God provides us ways to escape our troubles. It may be by a professional Christian counselor, a family member, or an accountability partner. Also, God has provided church families for mutual encouragement.
Most commonly, and most overlooked, we can deal with our difficulties by taking counsel in the inspired, inerrant Word of God. At the very least, our escape is in fully understanding that all suffering and trials will someday cease and we will be with Jesus for all eternity. That is how slaves, prior to emancipation, escaped their captivity. They sang wonderful, hopeful songs of the glory to come. Because of their struggle and perseverance, today we have many songs of great comfort and inspiration.

Let us be quick to look for God to preserve us in the famines of our lives, and extra quick to give him the glory when things work out for the benefit of his people.
