SOMEONE ONCE ASKED IF I WAS FREE
MY INWARD RESPONSE WAS “I WANT TO BE”
BUT MY OUTSIDE REALITY SAID THIS WASN’T TO BE
THIS THING, THIS MINDSET OF BEING FREE
I FEEL LIKE DANIEL STANDING IN THE MIDST
CREATURES SURROUNDING ME CRAVING MY FLESH
SEEKING MY LIFE AS A TOKEN FOR THEIR JOY
SEEKING TO ENSURE THERE IS A ME NO MORE
AM I FREE, THAT IS THE BIGGEST QUANDRY
IS THIS PLACE OF FREE LOCATED INSIDE OF ME
