- San Antonio, Texas has become my home and the home of my wonderful husband of 12 years Levar and my 3 beautiful children China, Dhalia and Mekiah where we have made many friends and we attend Spirit and Truth Worship Center. I, along with my husband, are lifetime founding members and I lead worship under the leadership of Levar as my minister of music and my pastor and first lady Eric and Cheryl Smith Sr. I am proud to be a part of building and advancing the Kingdom of God in preparation for the return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. .Laura J may be just a name for some but for many she is making moves and impacting lives with her voice and songwriting ability. With one of the most innovative and intriguing blend of R&B, Soul and even contemporary influences in her music, you cannot help but listen when you hear her. Writing her first song at the ripe age of 12 and singing with her "sister-like" cousin, Laura J's ability was over shadowed and often overlooked. But Laura has now revealed that which God had hidden for a short time and is burning with the passion of music that has been brewing in her soul. Laura J stood strong as a finalist on KSat 12 "Gimme the Mike" and has taken that experience as one that was great and one that she will never forget. Reaching for an exceeding platform to deliver a message of encouragement, change, reflection, even songs that deal with hardship in life and benefits of joy, Laura J is predestined to impact the music industry and she will not stop until she gets to where she is going. ---- This music will make you dance, laugh, cry, think and most of all make you feel again. Her ability to move a live crowd and abducting them into her world is only a small part of what to expect from this woman. She is a genuine breath of fresh air. "Music transcends culture, color and religion and most importantly it is my heart; Everything I feel, touch, see and experience in life I write about it to allow it to increase the lives others and each song brings healing to my own soul at the same time.
