- I recently moved here from Detroit, MI. I resigned from a career with a urge that was greater than anything I have ever experience. Often times, when I look at my life in a carnal state, I am frighten and perplexed as to how I got here?.... where am going?..... and what next? Spirtually I have learned to trust God and I know that God paved the way. I am a witness that GOD IS IN CONTROL......the story gets very interested, but for the sake of time I will just fast-forward my testimony to now......God has placed me in a ministry that is dear to my heart. He has guided me to a place where I can utilize my education, skills and talent as service to Him. I am the employment coordinator for ACTS Career Center. ACTS is a ministry of Brown M. B. Church in Southaven, MS. Our main objective is to connect qualified applicants with employment positions. We are not a staffing agency. We network at no cost to the applicant or the employer and fulfill job openings. In additon, ACTS provide FREE Microsoft Office Suite classes; resume workshop; small business start-up planning; highspeed computer lab for job research; copies of business flyers and resumes. Annually, we host a Business Showcase Event for a minimal sponsorship. This event allows local businesses to showcase their products and services and broaden their clientele. We are opened Mon-Thur from 9am- 5pm; Friday 9am-12 noon. In the interim, I enjoy caring for my family; being closer to my siblings; worshiping with Brown; meeting new friends and being kissed by the southern sun.
