Greetings!
Here is the Wednesday Word for February 8, 2012:
It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. ~ Psalm 118:8
What does it mean to really trust God? Often times we say we trust Him, but do our actions reflect that trust. When He has clearly spoken to your spirit to do something, do you wait a few days, just to see if that sense of urgency will go away? Thinking, maybe that really wasn’t God speaking. And then when He has clearly said to be still and wait, don’t we often find ourselves moving anyway? Going ahead and doing those things that we really want to do because we are in a hurry to get our “blessing.” The reality is, when we are slow in responding to God’s timing or step away from his plan, we block, hinder or may even miss our true blessings from God.
To truly trust God means that we are being obedient to His word and to the Holy Spirit. Moving when God says move and being still when He says be still. The Lord desires to protect, provide and care for each of us as His children. But you parents know that just like with your own children, if there is disobedience, there are often consequences that go along with it. So daily, we must seek God’s guidance and direction and make sure we do not just trust God with our words, but more importantly trust God with our actions.
Remember, is not about us. To God be the Glory!
