Wednesday Word for February 1, 2012

Greetings!

Wednesday Word for February 1, 2012:

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you.  I have appointed you a prophet to the nations. ~ Jeremiah 1:5

Take a moment and let this scripture sink in; re-read it.  These words from the Lord were not just for Jeremiah, but they are for you and me as well.  The Lord says “before I formed you”; you are His.  Before your parents ever thought about you, God knew you.  He cares just that much about you.  He has known the plan He has for your life since the beginning.  And everything prior to this moment in time, and everything to come, was so orchestrated for His purpose for your life.  Your parents, grandparents, and generations before them along with their successes, hardships and trials were all apart of shaping your life.  All that you have experienced, endured and encountered has been a part of God’s plan.  He has chosen you, set you apart, for a particular purpose.

We all have our circle of influence.  God placed you at that workplace, at that church, as a member of that family, a friend to those individuals in your life for a reason.  As children of God, we are all called to minister to our circle, however big or small it is.  We are all a walking testimony of God’s goodness, grace and mercy.  The messes that God has brought us out of should now be our message.  The test God saw us through is now our testimony.  Don’t let your suffering or pain (or even your successes!) be in vain, use it to minister and be a blessing to others.  Remember, it is not about us.
