What Part Of The World Have You Overcome?

In The World, But Not Of The World ... John 17:11-23

Living standards, in our todays world, have never been higher since the Garden of Eden. Our generation has comforts. Our generation has conveniences. Our generation has labor saving devices of which no previous generation has ever seen. However, the strain of living has probably never been greater than in this day of struggles, anxieties, trials and tribulations.

You see, American people are consuming approximately 14 million pounds of asprin per year. Fifty per cent of our hospital beds are occupied by mental patients; and, heart attacks and nervous breakdowns continue to increase. In the midst of all of this, television, radio and newspapers are saying that Chevrolet is the heartbeat of America and that Ford is winning the world over.

The Lord Jesus Christ spoke concerning the trials & tribulations of this world. He said, "These things I have spoken to you, that in me ye might have peace."

It was into this unfriendly world, that the apostles were sent. Their world, like ours, was a world of many woes. But Jesus said " ... I sanctify myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth." " ... I also have sent them into the world, ..." "They are not of the world." He said "In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."
