"And while they abode in Galilee, Jesus said unto them, The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men:
And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again …"
The prominence of "3" days, in the biblical account, may be in harmony with a recurrent emphasis and theme, in the Scriptures. This "3rd" day, according to the record, appears to be a day of special activity, spiritual decision, newness of service, renewed spiritual life; concluding with victory in the Lord Jesus Christ.
For it is written of Moses, "And he said unto the people, Be ready against the third day: … And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in the camp trembled. And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet with God; …"
For Joshua said, "Pass through the host, and command the people, saying, Prepare you victuals; for within three days ye shall pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land, which the LORD your God giveth you to possess it."
While they abode in Galilee, Jesus said to the Disciples, "…The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men: And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again … "
The Lord’s charge, to the people of God, is repeated from Genesis to Revelation. The divine call is not only for the exhibition of Godly Courage, but it is also for a courageous exhibition of Godly Faith that is centered in God’s Word.
As we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, let us continue to keep our eyes to the hills from where our help comes from. Our help, still yet, cometh from the Lord!!! He’s Alive!!!
