Connecting, Empowering and Inspiring Believers Around the Globe

I'm Truly Bothered!...is it me? or is something completely WRONG?

I had some time on my hands and figured I should just write about something of great concern to me and to my God. The world of Christendom has been plagued with legions of rampant vicissitudes. Many of our "kingdom" leaders have both "openly" and/or "privately" submitted themselves to fulfilling lusts of the flesh, i.e., adultery, fornication, homosexuality, lying, cheating, deceiving, and the list goes on. While this issue is not an issue with ALL “kingdom” workers, it’s safe to say that it is among the masses. The sad thing that their minds have been warped into believing that "it's ok,...God knows my heart".

I recently had the opportunity to speak with one pastor who told me that in order to be "accepted" in the realm of "kingdom" leaders, there is often a lot of pressure to be open to performing acts of perversion. There's a stigmatism of good ole boy syndrome "I'll scratch your back, if you scratch my back”, or, "I won't tell if you don't tell". This is not only among the community of our male leaders, but female as well. Many leaders have gotten so laxed into thinking that we are invincible. How do you shepherd over a flock, declaring the unadulterated Word of God, through an unclean vessel? Do you feel that you don't have to answer to God concerning the many souls who received the "transfer" of your unclean spirit? Those souls who have been exposed to your double lifestyle and feel that if you can do it, then they can do it. Is it all a joke or what!! How long do you really expect to live? I am truly BOTHERED!

Just recently, I dated a young pastor of a relatively large congregation, who appeared to be a God-fearing man of the cloth. I later found out that he only wore the holy garment, but the intents of his heart were otherwise. He expected me, a single, God-fearing woman, to be alright performing certain sexual favors for him. He had arranged it in his mind that he would be able to fly me into whatever city he would be preaching in and meet him at a hotel after he preaches and stay with him. He was very open, unphased, and even criticized me for thinking something is wrong with this picture. I was truly BOTHERED!

I also had the opportunity to speak with a fellow constituent who had accepted a position of being an armor bearer to his pastor. In accepting the position, he was manipulated into believing that sexual favors came along with servant hood...thus, he engaged in homosexual activities with the pastor, whom he served. A young lady also confided in me and told me that in serving one the "Famous" female "kingdom" leaders, she was actually "turned-out" to the lifestyle of a lesbian.

I'll be the first to say that I'm not perfect; neither do I expect our "kingdom" leaders to be. We are all flawed individuals and are tempted on every hand. I understand that God covers a multitude of sin, and He is the judge who sits on the throne. I don't put our leaders up on a pedestal, but, it is my belief that when sin is intentionally habitual, calculated and scheduled, do you expect God to turn His face? Shepherds are placed to lead and protect the flock...to HELP keep from stumbling or falling. I truly believe that God is truly BOTHERED!!

It is my prayer that, we, as children of God, go back to the altar and take introspect and ask God to purge us again. We not only carry Word in our heart, but the souls of many whose eyes are upon us to be their example. This note is not intended to bash, defame, nor tear down any of our leaders. But, help bring about a change in the way that we do things. It sickens me when I hear about "kingdom" leaders who have fallen from grace. I pray for their restoration but also for change in their mindset. Those of us who do not fall into this category, please, let's cover one another in prayer.

I'm Truly Bothered!...is it me? Or is something completely WRONG? Thanks for allowing me to think out loud.

I first want to say to you that I am sorry you had to go through, but I'm a firm believer that God allows things to happen to us for a reason. And with you being a born-again Christian you now can pray for our leaders with a sincere heart, and you know the heart of God. Because I'm sure He is not please with us taking His grace for granted. We focus too much on the fact that we are not a perfect people and no we are not but we serve a perfect God that allows His Holy Spirit to dwell within us to empower us to do what we can not do on our own or within our own ability. This is why the Word of God tells us to "Be ye transformed by the renewing of our minds". We can't be easily moved to sin we should be able to resist temptations we may fall now and again but it should not be a habit, we should have a righteous lifestyle. Being a Christian doesn't just mean that we teach or preach the Word of God but also APPLY it to our daily lives.

I encourage you to stay deeply grounded in the Word and I thank God that you are the woman that you are in Christ and this has not caused you to stray away nor down the men & women of God but that you have the heart of God and want to pray for them because we are one anothers keeper and when our brothers and sister fall we are to pray that they be restored unto God.

I love you with the Love of Christ CeCe
Sis. Celeste,
I'm glad I'm not the only one who is bothered. I can't stand it when a pastor can't or won't practice what he/she preaches! And they wonder why people are leaving and others don't want to come in. I've heard rumors and stories about some of these preachers, choir directors, etc. The lamest excuse ever uttered is "God knows my heart". Yes, He does and when He convicts them of those sins they are going to wish He didn't know their heart. So much of what we do, who we are, and what happens in our lives are direct results of what we do, say, and go.

I'm sorry for the dating experience that you went through. No one should have to go through that. Makes it so much harder to trust people. I feel sorry for any single ladies in his church because he's probably chasing them around. I also feel sorry for any singles seminar or ministry his church has, because there are not getting the truth nor the true benefit some someone who is single and saved. It's important for young single people to see someone who is single and saved. This summer I presented an abstinence seminar to the young ladies at my church and at the end I offered them a purity ring and plege, if they were ready to take it. I took the pledge as well. They were shocked. I told them "I'm single. I'm not a virgin anymore, but I'm making a faith effort to remain pure until my wedding day." So I wear my purity ring, first of all for me. But also to let my young ladies know that they aren't on this journey alone. I understand what they are going through and they can trust what I say.
I couldn't trust that man you dated. Man, I'm even having a hard time calling him a pastor and I don't even know him. Shame.
Wow! All I can say is that I must be sadly out of touch. I haven't run into this type of perversion in the church not to say that I haven't heard of any cases but they haven't touched me personally. The closest that it has come has been with people who have attended chuches where my children attend. I know personally of two youth leaders who became involved in adulterous affairs and therefore destroyed two families. My son who is administrator over a small Christian school recently had to be involved in a disciplinary situation with a youth pastor and one of his students and one of the church leaders destroyed his long term marriage by having an adulterous affair. I am afraid that it is just a case of satan being alive and well and still seeking those whom he can steal, kill and destroy. Our church leaders need a strong covering of prayer and need to be accountable to someone and God
While it is easy to look at the symptoms, true healing only comes when we deal with the underlying illness. It would be easy to dismiss this trend as merely the priesthood behaving badly. However there is an underlying sickness. The under-shepherds and hirelings expect the flock to serve them instead of them serving the flock. It is a biblical truth that "a haughty spirit comes before the fall." And if I see myself at a higher level than you it becomes easier to use you to meet my "needs." We become victims of our own "success." Though all of the "success" belongs to God. " One planteth, another waters, but God gives the increase."

There is also a secondary issue of the hirelings/armor bearers esteeming the man/woman-of-God more than the God of the man/woman. And though it is true that "love covers a multitude of sin" we are also responsible for correcting one that errs. There is that three step process that is so often ignored by the church - privately, with two or three witnesses, and before the church.

While I could say much more I will leave it at this. Peace unto you, The Net Elder
BRAVO, NET ELDER, BRAVO!!
Something is truly wrong!!!! I never realized how rampant the lust of the flesh is accepted by men of ministry til I started talking to people online. I think internet has opened up a whole new world were maybe the congregation doesnt know what they are doing so they arent held accountable. God is not happy at all. But because there is no accountability from the wives or other ministers they feel its okay. I asked one man who has a church and is a minister what his congregation would think about him talking and asking me such explicit things. His response was they will understand I'm a man with needs. Just because the churches accept it, the wives accept it, fellow ministers accept it doesnt mean God accepts it. We all as a whole need to fast and pray this out of our churches!!!!

It is not just you. Something is wrong. One of the biggest problems is that many of these so called ministers of the gospel are not even saved, and God has not sent them. They ran, but I have not sent them, saith the Lord. How can they win their flock to Christ, when they themselves haven't been converted. Repentance is the first step to salvation.

Many so called minister do not even preach repentance (turning away from the practice of sin). Anyone can go to a cemetery (seminary) where the dead teach the dead, get a Dumb Dog degree, and become another wolf in sheep's clothing.

Before the Lord saved me, I used to attend a church where it didn't matter how you live, what you do, or how you dress. As long as you give your 10%, you're saved. There was a young preacher who I looked up to. One day he asked me to hang out with him. So I thought, "Why not? Spending time with a minister can help me be more encouraged to start living right." Instead, I received the very opposite effect. We hung out alright. First at his house with another "church brotha", where he had us tuning in to porno. Then after that, to pick up some girls. Then, to the club, where he started a fight. Then after that, back to the preacher's house where things continued to be ungodly. By the way this guy was engaged to his now wife.

After that experience, I was beginning to think that that was the definition of being a Christian. But one day, the Lord drew me away from the blight of man-made religion/tradition and philosophy, and brought me into the Light. I've been delivered from fornication, drunkenness, cursing, lying, stealing, cheating, lust, covetousness, hatred, from sin. The Lord gave me godly sorrow to work repentance. He lead me to real men of God, leaders who are not living double lives or double standards. Men who preach repentance and remission of sins in His Name.
