How do you know if your season is up at a ministry? What are the signs and symptoms?

We all have heard people say one time or another my time is up or my season is up at church? or when people think they are not being "used" in a particular ministry or questioning the validity of a ministry. or there have been some when they said their time is up there have been members to tell them its not "time" yet. I just would like some feedback on this and thought this would be an interesting topic to talk about.
Thanks in advance!

Thank U my sister! I told the Program Director at the Radio Station that I felt my time in Rado was up; He encouraged me not to give up, at least give it another month. I agreed. Like I stated, just to be on the air is not good enough, helping some body to find their way, and to know God is my desire.
My Mission Statement is: Being a beacon of light, pointing men, women, boys, and girls to the light (Jesus Christ).
Our Ministry Business/Vision is Winning Souls for Christ thru "Sharing & Caring."
Our Ministry Sologan is: Do your best, then Watch God do the rest
Our Ministry Scripture is: Matthew 5:13-1613 -Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Thanks for letting me know I am still useful and full of wisdom. I do love God! I love His people as well.
Love U my dear sister.
You are welcome and do please keep in touch. I love the whole vision of the ministry. Yes God , I am salt and light of the world. Bless God that is my nugget. Dr. Martin i would love to mentored by you am i considered youth im 37...lol
My sister, I have been inspired just by reading the comments I have received. On today, a Prophet said God ain't thru blessing and using me. A song that I sing every morning when I get up, and sometimes thru the day is "Yes" Yes to God will, Yes to God's way! and Yes to whatever he has for me to do.
My thing is that I never want to be a hinder to anyone, I do not want my living to be in vain. I want to always be God inspired, not self inspired. Am I making sense? :)
You are making good sense i understand everything you have said. Glory to God! I am so happy that this thread has helped, ministered and inspired you. while this has helped you, you have helped others by being transparent and giving an awesome testimony.
Be blessed
This was a very powerful and insightful question that I think most every child of God will eventuallly come to. I have come to believe that it is at such crossroads in life where some of our most important decisions are made. My conviciton is that at these cross roads however, we must remember the CROSS and the statment that Jesus made in preparation for His journey there; 'Nevertheless, not my will but your will be done.' Too many times we quit and use God as the reason for quitting simply because we don't want to suffer, endure or go through the process of spiritual pain. Yet, it is our suffering, endurance and [by the power of God] facing most of the 'stuff' that we don't want to go through that brings about the majoirty of our growth and usefullness in ministry. I can't tell you the number of times as a Sunday school teacher, deacon, assistant minister and armor bearor that I was tempted to think that my season was up. I remember clearly, unfortunately, there were times that I took matters into my own hands and made moves based upon what I felt in my emotions and according to what i wanted to do. These episodes were some of my most miserable mistakes. Only after humbling myself to God and even others did God heal me and bring back to the place in Him where He had pre-ordained in my life.

It is a hard thing to accept but it is the truth; 'we are not our own we are bought with a price.' Furhtermore, in order to be the honorable servants, sons and daughters to God that we should, we must allow Him to give us our orders; not men, women or even ourselves. This only comes about through dying to our own desires and becoming alive to God's. Jesus taught us that ' after a grain of wheat falls down into the ground and dies... then it will bring forth fruit.' Sometimes we think that because we are not bearing the same fruit as others that means that we must not be planted in the right place! No, sometimes that just means we haven't died enough yet. My testimony is that when I died to what I wanted ... God did for me what i could never have pulled off on my own.

Life is full of seasons, the one that i am in now is a result of my prior death experiences. I can not measure it or its effectiveness by what i feel or by what others say. I can only measure it by the fact that because I perservered to obey God and to get my flesh out of the way ..... right now I am where God placed me. Right now, to the best of my ability i try to do what God told me; whether that is to reach 1 person or 1 thousand persons. I am not responsible for the fruit ...God is. He is the vine i am a branch. I beleive that I can bloom where He planted me....even when there are seasons of dryness and no rain in sight I believe that God controls the wind and the rain. I even believe that God knows how to take the seeds that He has graciously sowed in my life and cause them to be scattered in places that I never would have reached had I tried to do it myself. Lastly, the times when I thought my season was up I have personally found out that it was just the beginning of another chapter. My advice to any is to really take the time, process and actions to assure that it is God who moves you and not people, feelings or any other created thing. Obedience is better than sacrifice. Father's Love to you. Thank you for such a powerful question.
WOW! This was awesome! I agree with everything you have said Pastor Mel, We must die to flesh and humble ourselves . Because its not about us its about God and what he wants us to do. He did not say the road will be easy. We must endure the long suffering. God has a reason for everything he does and you better believe it is for our good. We may not know it then but in the end we will come out like pure Gold. This has encourage me about a situation where i asked myself is my time up because there were so many oppositions. Sometimes you just get "tired of all the mess". But to God be the glory because i am asking God let me decrease as you increase. I could not understand what was going on at the particular time but God has given me clarity now. Thank you Jesus, God bless you Pastor Mel and may he smile on you.
First of all we placed in the body to grow and to be fed of the Lord. As Elijah was being led and fed of the Lord at the brook when the brook dried up( hence not being sustained) time and season has come. Why sit ye there and die. Elijah heard the voice of the Lord. The Holy Spirit is your guide hear ye him. However you must be in him and he in you to hear.
Apostle Champagne you have made a very good point. It is very important to remain in Christ Jesus and he remains in us. Everything we do must be led by God and God only. That's very crucial because its not about us but the Father. At the end of the day he will let you know but the key is "hear".
I believe many individuals are sent to certain ministries for a season and when it is up, it's time to pack up and go. For me I really got to a place where I just didn't believe in my pastors vision nor did I believce he was sincere. I also witnessed a degrading in my position within his ministry. I went in as a youth pastor and each meeting it seemed as if he was demoting me. Now mind you I did all he istructed me to do as well as stabilize the ministry and see it to really grow. I spoke to him about it personally twice and his answers were bland and covertly insulting, I knew it was time to go.
How long where you at this ministry?
