With tears of joy!
I think this is great ! But i think people are at this time unable to talk about it. Beco i believe they are still under shock. But believe give them time will be rejoicing and talking about it Worldwide for along time.
We had them all up and watching from age 7 - 65! We had a lot of fun and fellowship with some heated politcal conversations with family and friends present representing both sides. It was great watching the kids respond. One of our neighbors daughters were over and it was her birthday! She responded "Oh my God, my daddy is the president!" We burst out laughing!!!

She's crazy!
A long time coming!! Never thought that i would see this day that many of our ancestors had shed their blood and sweat for..this gives our culture as a whole, HOPE..Especially for our youth and our black men young and old, a sense of pride to being a black man again!!! That even in the midst of their surrounding and circustances, they too can have the American Dream!! SAY IT LOUD, I'M BLACK AND I'M PROUD!!!
Vince McCaskill:

Greetings!

We are grateful concerning the results of the election. Blessings!

Pastor Mike ...
Certainly, I knew B. Obama was capable of getting the popular vote but, I was uncertain on the electoral side.
Thinking the Presidential race would go on most of the night, I actually took a nap. The phone rang with the news Senator Obama, now President Elect had already obtained enough electoral votes to win. This was the second time in 6 Presidential races that the person I voted for actually won. This was special to me because: for once I think we have someone in the White House that is willing to change for our needs without being so set in their ways, that no matter what decisions need to be made, they won't adjust their agenda or their party affiliations philosophy. It won't be easy, but I think the pressure to be a good President and the first non-white President is enough to motivate Obama. I pray that we all get behind him and he has God to protect him and guide his Presidency.
With tears of joy, with VERY LOUD praise, dancing, jumping, shouting, wishing I had taken Wednesday off
November 4th was truly an historic day in our history. As african - americans and as americans, it was a tremendous site to see. I just wish some of those who fought for equality could have witnessed this day. My grandparents would have loved to see this day, but they are in glory. I am in Memphis City Schools and I told all of my kids about this day and how hard people fought for this day. No longer can we say our kids can't be president, Mr. Obama proved that they can. No longer is the sky our limit.
I felt it was going to be a long night and we would find out the results the next morning. I had actually just concluded a telephone call with one of my friends and she had stated if Obama received the California electoral votes, the election would be over. No later than five minutes passed and it was announced that Obama had won California! I was elated! The innovative campaigning alone was one for the history books. Maybe now, not because he is black, but, because of his ability to draw people of different ethnicities together, we will see CHANGE in this country. God Bless America!
I thought about my family members who have gone on. My Uncle China when to be with God in Aug. of this year. And while he probably would not have been in the frame of mind to vote (he was 89 and had Alhzimers) he would have loved to see it. I could see him not being able to say anything, but just having tears in his eyes. He couldn't vote when he turned 18; he had lived a great part of his life before he could vote. He was always taking people to the polls, makeing sure they were registered. I know he would have loved it.
I haven't cried yet, but I think Jan. 20 I'm going to have to buy stock in Kleenex. lol I'm only 32 and I myself never thought I would see a black president. Maybe my grandchildren would, but not me. And now I can tell my nephew and my kids at church- no excuses. You can be President of the United States and there is absolutely nothing that can hold you back.
I too am glad that this historic moment has been made. But we as Christians need to stop and examine some of the things we have been saying such as this gives black men a sense of hope again and now we can start telling our children they can be whatever they want to be.

Let me share something with you Jesus came and died on calvary for all men to have hope no matter what the color, and we should never have stopped telling our children that they could be whatever they wanted to be because the word of God tells us "I can do ALL things through Christ". I too supported Obama and I am again very glad and thankful for what God is doing, but we need not put all our hope and trust in Obama, because God placed him there and he is just a vessel to be used just as the rest of us if we yield ourselves to Him.

I know I am going to get alot of talk for this but this just bought questions in my mind to hear Christians respond the way they have and not just here on this forum but here in my city. It makes you do a self examination of do we really beleive what the Word of God says.
We cried our hearts and eyes out. Looking at Jesse Jackon's emotional state did not help it but we really did not expect this to ever happen in our nation. I explained some truths in politics and in culture and race to my 12 year old daughter and we rejoiced and at the same time mourned because of the potential harm that can come to our president elect simply because of the color of his skin.

I was a little taken aback by some of McCain's comments but regardless, to God be the glory. We know that promotion only comes from the Lord and this is who He has trusted with the US right now and that is where I stand with it. But what a remarkable and exciting time we had watching as it was narrowed down (landslide),

I cannot stress how we all need to stay in prayer for our government and country as well as Obama. Now more than ever.
